Meta / Llama

Tracking pixels riding API responses and Facebook SDK telemetry that ignores opt-out state — observed, with the advertising-graph bridge labeled as inference.

What we observed

Fact — captured

Tracking pixels are embedded in Llama API responses, and Facebook SDK telemetry remained active during Llama API interactions in every account state we tested — including logged-out and opt-out configurations.

Inference — most likely interpretation

These mechanisms create a bridge between AI interaction context and Meta's advertising graph, including for users who have never held a Facebook account, via device-level identifier correlation.

Opinion — our judgment

AI conversation context is among the most sensitive data a person produces. Using it to enrich an advertising profile — without an explicit, informed opt-in — would be a line we don't think should be crossed.
